Terms of Service
These terms set out the agreement between you and BrokaBoy when you use this website. They are written to be read, not skimmed past - please take a few minutes with them.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing, browsing or using BrokaBoy you agree to be bound by these terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Risk Disclosure. If you do not agree with any part of them, please stop using the site. If you use BrokaBoy on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business.
2. What BrokaBoy is - and what it is not
BrokaBoy is an independent broker comparison and education library. We publish broker profiles, ratings, fee summaries, regulator explainers and a trading glossary so that you can compare providers and understand the vocabulary before you commit money anywhere.
BrokaBoy is not a financial advisor, financial services provider, broker, dealer, portfolio manager or intermediary. We do not provide personalised financial, investment, tax or legal advice, we do not receive or hold client funds, and we do not execute, arrange or place any trade.
Everything on this site is general information published for a general audience. It takes no account of your objectives, financial situation or needs. Before acting on anything you read here, speak to a licensed financial advisor - for South African users, an FSP or representative authorised under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002 (FAIS).
3. Accuracy of information
Broker data on this site - spreads, minimum deposits, leverage caps, fee notes, regulatory listings and account-opening steps - is compiled from public sources and illustrative mock figures and is presented for comparison purposes. Trading conditions change frequently and vary by entity, jurisdiction, account type and market conditions.
You must verify current terms on the broker's own website, and in the legal documents of the specific regulated entity you are onboarding with, before opening an account. Our scoring approach and its limits are described in full on the Methodology page.
4. Intellectual property
The BrokaBoy name, logo, wordmark, page design, written reviews, ratings, methodology, glossary entries and the structure of our comparison data are owned by BrokaBoy or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
You may read, share links to, and quote short extracts of our content with clear attribution and a link back to the source page. You may not republish pages in bulk, scrape or systematically harvest our data, resell our content, train commercial models on it, or present our ratings as your own without written permission.
Broker and platform logos, brand names and regulator marks remain the property of their respective owners and appear here for identification and editorial purposes only. Their presence does not imply any endorsement of BrokaBoy by those parties.
5. User conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure or any connected system.
- Introduce malware, launch denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise interfere with the availability of the service for others.
- Use automated scrapers, crawlers or bots to extract content at scale outside of ordinary search-engine indexing.
- Submit false, abusive, defamatory or misleading content through the contact form or any other input.
- Misrepresent your relationship with BrokaBoy, or use our brand in a way that suggests affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship that does not exist.
6. Third-party links and affiliate relationships
BrokaBoy links out to broker websites, regulator registers and other third-party resources. Some outbound broker links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you open an account after clicking through. You never pay more as a result - pricing is identical to going direct. Commission never influences ratings, rankings or which criticisms appear in a review.
We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, products, pricing, security, availability, promotional claims, account decisions, execution quality, withdrawals, or any conduct by a broker toward you.
Any dealing you have with a broker - including account opening, funding, trading, complaints and withdrawals - is strictly between you and that broker, governed by their terms and their regulator's complaints process. Following a link from BrokaBoy is not a recommendation to open an account.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that any broker listed will be suitable for you or that any outcome - financial or otherwise - will follow from using this site.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BrokaBoy, its owners, contributors and contractors are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, lost opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, your reliance on any information on it, or your dealings with any third-party broker.
You use leveraged products entirely at your own risk. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or gross negligence, or any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify BrokaBoy against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We may add, change, suspend or remove any part of the site - including broker listings, ratings and features - at any time and without notice. We may also restrict access where we reasonably believe these terms are being breached.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, with the South African courts having jurisdiction over any dispute. The governing entity and forum are to be confirmed pending finalisation of business registration, and this section will be updated accordingly. If you access the site from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your own local laws.
12. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
