"Alternative methods" covers e-wallets (HFM's page mentions Skrill) and local payment options, such as regional bank-payment gateways and mobile money. These change by country. HFM doesn't publish a single global list, so the Client Area deposit screen is the definitive list for you.
Crypto: HFM's public deposit page didn't mention cryptocurrency when we checked. If you see a crypto option in your Client Area, read its specific terms (network, minimum, how withdrawals return) before sending anything.
How to pick the right method
Pick the method by how you'll get your money back. The same-source rule means withdrawals usually return the way the money arrived (cards must go back to the same card).

The fee you don't see: currency conversion
HFM charges nothing, but converting currency still costs you. Most HFM accounts are held in USD or EUR (Cent uses US cents). If your money is in another currency, someone converts it, and that spread is a real cost.
Worked example. You hold South African rand and deposit into a USD Premium account.
Mid-market rate: say 18.00 ZAR per USD (illustrative).
Your bank converts at 18.45, a 2.5% margin.
R9,225 buys $500 at your bank's rate, against $512.50 at mid-market. The conversion has cost you $12.50.
If you later withdraw $500 back to rand at another 2.5% margin, you lose roughly another $12.50.
That $25 round trip is about the same as the spread on almost two standard lots of EUR/USD on a Premium account (1.4 pips × $10 = $14 per lot). For a small account that trades 0.01 lots, it's equal to well over a hundred trades' worth of spread. Two ways to cut it:
Use a local payment method that settles in your currency at a competitive rate. Compare the quoted amount before you confirm.
Where available, open an account in your own currency. InfinityX supports NGN, GHS, THB, IDR and JPY among others, and the Pro FAQ also quotes NGN and JPY minimums.
Step by step: making a deposit
Verify your profile first. Unverified clients may see fewer methods or lower limits.
In the Client Area, choose Deposit and select the trading account (or wallet) to fund.
Pick a method. The screen shows that method's minimum, maximum and currency.
Complete the payment in the pop-up or redirect (3-D Secure for cards, a log-in for wallets, or bank details for a wire).
Check that the balance appears in MT4/MT5. For a wire, include your account number in the payment reference exactly as HFM shows it.
Why deposits fail, and fixes
Problem
Likely cause
Fix
Card declined
Bank blocks payments to trading firms, or 3-D Secure failed
Approve the payment in your banking app or call your bank

Wait 30–60 minutes for cards and wallets, then contact support with the reference
Wire not credited after 7 days
Missing or wrong reference

Pay from an account in your own name
Third-party payments, such as a friend's card or a relative's bank account, are a common reason brokers reject or return funds under anti-money-laundering rules. Always pay from an account in your own name.
Which account should you fund?
Methods are the same across HFM's accounts, but the account you fund changes what the money can do. A $50 card deposit into the Cent account shows as 5,000 USC and supports properly sized micro trades. The same $50 in a Pro account doesn't meet its $100 minimum. InfinityX needs $500 to start. If you're unsure, our HFM account types comparison sets out the trade-offs. For a first deposit, fund one account only. Spreading a small balance across several accounts leaves each one too thin to manage risk, and transfers between accounts add admin. You can always open and fund a second account later from your HFM wallet.
Bonuses and deposits
On the global site (HF Markets (SV) Ltd), HFM sometimes runs a top-up bonus that credits 10% to 100% of a deposit as non-withdrawable bonus credit. Taking it isn't automatic. The terms decide which deposits qualify and how withdrawals reduce the bonus. Read the HFM bonus guide before depositing with a bonus in mind. UK and EU entities don't offer bonuses.
For most traders outside the UK and EU, the most convenient setup is to deposit with a local method or e-wallet that also supports fast withdrawals, in your own currency where possible. Use cards for small first deposits and bank wires for large balances. Before funding fully, run a small deposit-and-withdrawal test so you know your real timings. Our deposits and withdrawals explainer covers the general rules that apply at any broker. If e-wallet support matters a lot to you, compare HFM on our Skrill and Neteller brokers list.
CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Most retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. Consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. Full risk disclosure.
Frequently asked questions
What deposit methods does HFM accept?
HFM's funding page lists credit and debit cards, bank transfers and two groups of alternative methods, which cover e-wallets such as Skrill and local payment options that vary by country. The full list for your country appears in the Client Area when you click Deposit, because HFM switches methods on or off by region and entity.
Does HFM accept crypto deposits?
HFM's public deposit page did not list cryptocurrency deposits when we checked in October 2026. Some regions may see crypto options inside the Client Area, so look there before assuming either way. If crypto is offered, check the network, any minimum, and how withdrawals will be returned before you send coins.
How long does an HFM deposit take?
HFM quotes up to 10 minutes for card deposits, instant or up to 10 minutes for alternative methods, and 2 to 7 business days for bank transfers. If a card or e-wallet deposit has not arrived after an hour, check that the payment left your account and contact HFM support with the transaction reference.
Are there fees for depositing at HFM?
HFM states that it does not apply deposit fees, and that bank transfer deposits over $100 are free. Fees can still come from your side: international wire charges, card issuer cross-border fees, e-wallet loading fees, or a currency conversion margin if you pay in a different currency from your trading account.
What is the maximum deposit at HFM?
For cards and the alternative methods HFM lists a maximum of $10,000 per transaction. Bank transfers have no stated upper limit, which makes them the usual route for larger amounts. Your own bank or wallet may impose lower daily limits, so check those if you plan a large first deposit.
